ACBailey National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop!
Hello Everyone! Welcome to AC Bailey's FIRST ever blog hop! Do we have a treat for YOU! This is an awesome opportunity for you to meet all the ACB DT members, learn lots of (hopefully) new ideas and techniques, gain some inspiration and you may even win some prizes along the way! Here is how this works, if you are already on my site via a link you already know this, but for those of you popping in here mid-stream, let me explain.
The FIRST post or START to this blog hop is on the AC Bailey blog at: www.acbailey.blogspot.com There you will find the instructions, all the "fine print" details and such, you will then go from that blog post, to the next DT member whose link is in the post, once you have visited that gals site, you will click on the link she has in her post to the next designer and so on and so on,...following me? Be sure to leave a comment on each blog as at every site there will be a random name drawn from all who post and one lucky gal on EACH blog will win a SUPER prize. Then- when you are finished with all THAT-create a layout or project using three or more of the ideas you saw demo'd on the blogs and post that layout in the gallery in the NSD layout folder (under Scrap Stimulus Contest) section and then post how much fun you had and a link to your layout on the special NSD thread in the Scrap Stimulus Contest section of the forum! We will then draw one lucky winner form all those posting qualifying layouts and THAT lucky "rabbit" will win a May KOTM _ how cool would that be?? It COULD be you, all you need to do is PLAY! It is a lot easier than this perhaps sounds, try it! You will enjoy it and don't worry- we will have instructions for you all the way through this and we will be available off and on all weekend on the forum so if you get stuck yell out and we can help you-easy and FUN - and PRIZES! What more could you ask for???
For anyone who does not know, my name is Ginnifer Maloney and I am a part of the ACBailey Design Team. I found ACB by accident a few years ago while I was finding sites to sell crafts on. Because of ACB I have learned what community forums are and how much fun they can be! I've been on the team for over a year now and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I've made a lot of friends and had support through some hard times and I'm very grateful for that. Currently my favorite product available through ACB is (don't be too shocked my friends ;)) is Bazzill In Stitchz! I love the patterns and the finishing touch it adds to my layouts. They are very versitle and you don't even need to actually "stitch" to use them! I like to find different ways to use them including making my own felt embellishments, so check them out in the store! Erica has the complete program available which will get you started on this addiction of mine.
So now for my how-to I'd like to show you how to make some buttons! What you will need are:
Circle punches
Think Chipboard (cereal boxes are perfect!)
Patterned paper (even just scraps)
Paper piercer or something with a sharp point
Glossy Accents by Ranger
adhesive
The first step is to punch your "buttons" out of the chipboard and patterned paper. Then you glue the punched patterned paper circle to the chipboard circle.
Next you poke your button holes. If you don't have a paper peircer (I use the one by Bazzill) then a thumbtack or sewing needle will work.
Once you do that, cover the button with a layer of glossy accents. Try to avoid covering the holes of your buttons, if you accidently do, wait til it's fully dry and peirce again.
Once they have dried and hardened, you will have buttons like these:
Then use them on your layouts and projects! Simple and easy, just a little time consuming while waiting for them to dry, but well worth the wait!
Thanks for stopping by my blog during this glorious holiday! (lol). I hope you've enjoyed learning this technique..Now your next stop is at Elisabeth's blog at:http://elisabeth-workofheart.blogspot.com/ Have a nice day!
